Popping onto a Postcard

When I learn that my art has landed on the front of a postcard I have to share it with you!

Opening Doors III is an exhibition of artwork from members of the Boise Open Studio Collective Organization. This sneak peak of our Open Studios Tour is the perfect time to get a taste of the art that you will find on the weekend tour, Oct 6,7 and 8. But don’t get those dates mixed up with the exhibition dates (below)!

I love that they used the word ”glimpse”! Some of you may not know that I have a Glimpse series.

The post card is a cropped image of my piece, Alinea #15, which will be in the exhibition.

Here it is in full.

Alinea #15

Alinea #15 ©2015 Kathleen Probst, 33” x 24” $1200

The blue pops out against the slower warm hues of this palette. The horizontal stitching is also blue, a surprise in my Alinea series.

These canyon colors are part of my summer stories written here in the west.

For the past 20 summers I have been rowing past grand columns of Basalt, towering sandstone layers of canyon walls, landing on sand soaked beaches and running rapids weaving through boulders. They all have voices in this piece which is timeless and comforting to me.

I’ll keep it clean, simple and uncluttered with a touch of celadon for kicks.
